The Lust For More
Why does it seem the world is in decay? In the last days the love of many will wax cold. Having their conscious sceared they are no longer aware of there willfull disobedience. The word sums up all the sins of the world are summed up in the lust of the eyes, in the lust of the flesh & the pride of life.
The lust of the eyes, = what we see!
The lust of the flesh & = what we get/acquire!
The pride of life = what we are proud to do or have!
All sins fall into three categories.
Lust for what you see.
Lust for what you flesh wants.
The pride of your lifes work.
These three we fight with faith in we don’t see,
hope in a God who is spirit not flesh & love which is humble serving & effaced before God.
The buddhist have the three monkey hear no evil, see no evil & speak no evil. Those are not Gods ways but mans attempt to stop sin they still fall short.
This society struggles for more today and for tomorrow because the lust and covet what isn’t theirs. When the word does says we should pray give us this day our daily bread. Paul said I am content in all things whether I have or don’t have, whatever I gain or loose I choose to seek & pursue the hevenly reward remembering this life is temporary compared to eternity.
Many seek to be rich in life but easier an eye of a needle allow a giant camel through its small point. The point with man it MAY just BE impossible but with God all things are possible.
There is therefor no temptation that is not common to man for we have a great high preist who was touched with the feeling of our afflictions and yet without sin he overcame them and showed us how to come out from under the pressure of the sins of life.
Jesus said the law & prophets is summed up in this, That we love God with our whole mind (soul), body (flesh) & spirit (heart). And that we love our neighbors & love ourselves.
If we love God we are humble because God resists the proud (the pride of life). But they that are broken & contrite he hears & stores up their tear in a bottle.
If you love your neighbor (or fellow man or samaritan) then you will not lust or covet for what is theres (the lust of the eyes).
If you love yourself you will not be a glutton, a drunkard, you want seek to fulfill you carnal nature (the lust of the flesh).
Jesus himself was tempted in these three ways, he was tempted with the lust of the flesh to desire turn a rock into bread after a 30 day fast,
He was tempted with the lust of the eyes when satan offered the kingdom of the earth.
He was tempted with the pride of life knowing he had the power to save his own life if he jumped he could have had angels save him. Yet each time he answered satan with a simple retort using Gods word.
In the Ark of the Covenant we have three reminders of the three sins with three solutions God gave.
One we have manna which is for the feeding of the body (the lust of the flesh) the metaphor for daily bread. Bread we get from heaven. As Jesus said we have the bread of heaven, he also said his meat/food was to do the Fathers will.
The lust of the eyes was idolatery of the Egyptians for that Moses brought down the ten commandments to dind the people went to worshipping the golden cow of Egypt.
The pride of life was shown in the rebellion of Dathan & Koran who tried to take Aaron’s preisthood, yet God showed He anointed Aaron by causinghis staff to bloom almond blossoms & Dathan & Koran we taken down into Hell alive.
So we see in the hebrew scriptures the physical way to deal with sin, in the renewed covenant we see how to keep our heart & spirit right. As Jeremiah says, the torah (instructions) will be written upon our hearts.
Jesus the type & shadow of things to come. The Logos who spoke the world into existence, that holds the world together with His Logos, wrote the ten words / Instructions / commands as His Logos to man & now rights the torah (instructions) / Logos to mankind. Who gived us the Holy Spirit to overcome all things, to endure all things. Knowing we are saved Gods own blood shed for us, because life is in the blood this is why we observe Pesach to remember the work & power of the blood.
However he has predestined us for God works & that faith without obedient works is dead. Living faith is active & obedient. If we walk in the spirit we will not fulfill the works of the spirit instead we will outwardly manifest the Gifts of the Spirit showing the internal working of the Holy Spirit and he also gives us the Ministry Gifts of the spirit to minister healing & evangelize the lost.
We must learn to pray in the spirit, walk in the spirit and pray without ceasing. We must practice the presence of God. Walking in the Spirit & with Him, therefore being known by God & doing the will of the Father. Knowing His will is that you be sanctified wholly.
